Notice of the
Regular Council Meeting

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011 at 6:00 p.m.

City Hall, Council Chambers
1210 Main Street
Oconto, WI 54153

AGENDA

This will be an open meeting and notice has been given to the public at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the meeting by forwarding the complete agenda to the Oconto County Reporter. Copies of the agenda were available for inspection at the office of Administrator and on the City’s
Website calendar: www.cityofoconto.com


Regular Council Meeting in Council Chambers with the following agenda:

1. Meeting called to order

2. Roll Call

3. Invocation and pledge of allegiance by Alderperson Paluch.

4. Approval of agenda

5. Approval of minutes as presented from the Committee of the Whole,
Council and any Special Council meetings.

6. Approval of department reports as presented.

7. Correspondence/Public Input
a. Acknowledge Director of Public Services for design and work for Business 41.

b. Request from Lt. John Reed regarding Special Olympics car wash/cook out fundraiser.

8. Approval of consent agenda:
a. Approve of closing off Park Lane and part of Spies Road for the Trail Busters for truck pulls 6/10/2011 from 3 p.m. to 12 a.m.
b. Approve of closing off Huron Avenue from Crivello’s parking lot to Pecor Street for the Bicycle Poker Run on 5/21/2011.
c. Approve of Preliminary Resolution regarding special assessments for Cook Avenue from Charles Street to Evergreen Road and scheduling the public hearing.
d. Approve with clarification purchase of 2011 John Deere Gator for the Campground that $6,000 was budgeted for.
e. Approve of purchase of 5 trash cans and 2 benches for the Breakwater Park Marina with remaining contingency funds from the project. (Since meeting on 5/3/2011 $2,000 has been donated for the two benches). With freight cost will be $3,016.
f. Award Contract OC-11-A to Peters Concrete in the amount of $1,531,546.00.
g. Approve of Resolution exempting City of Oconto from County Library Tax.
h. Approve of listing of accts payables for $419,088.30; payroll for $113,108.06 and financial reports as presented.
i. Approve of pay Jim Wolfe, Sr., $.51 per mile for 70 miles retroactive to when he started the city’s surveying in 2011.
j. Approve of request from Oconto Youth Center, Inc for 2nd annual Family Fun Day on 6/4/2011 and closing portion of Huron Avenue between Pecor Street and the Phillip Augustine residence at 112 Huron Avenue to accommodate the activities between 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
k. Approve of request from Oconto Elks Lodge 887 to close off Park Street on Thurs., June 9th, 2011 from 3 p.m. to 12 a.m. without interfering with Hi Seas Marina for the tractor pull.
l. Approve of request from Oconto Elks for a Temp Class B license for 6/9/2011 for a tractor pull.
m. Approve of request from Oconto Trail Busters for 6/10/2011 for Harbor Road, City Docks for the Oconto Trail Busters Truck pull.
n. Approve of listing 2011 listing for Alcohol Beverage licenses.
o. Accept resignation of Don Denor from the Board of Review.
p. Approve of appointment by Mayor of Terri Berth to Board of Review and re-appointment of Steve Gering to the Police & Fire Commission.

9. Discussion/action on:

a. Appeal submitted by Chris Augustine regarding conditional use permit for the Oconto Yacht Club.

b. Removal of footings on former Kelly Pickle Property.

c. Approve of Safe Routes to School Program we have been awarded.

d. Recommendation from Wage & Personnel regarding part-time cleaning position for city hall.

e. Approve of operators license(s).

f. Accept resignation from Michael J. Trepanier as a member of the Industrial Development Commission.
