Forestry Committee meeting minutes held on March 3, 2010

1.) Meeting called to order @ 9:00 a.m.
2.) Roll Call: Members Present: Terry Bendt, Brian Rice, Don Denor, & Jim Hornblad. Others Present: Kale Proksch & Gretchen Schwanz.
3.) Approval of Agenda as presented: Motion by Bendt second by Denor to approve of agenda as presented. 4 ayes. M/C.
4.) Approval of meeting minutes from 1/13/2010: Motion by Hornblad second by Denor to approve of meeting minutes from 1/13/2010 as typed. 4 ayes. M/C.
5.) Public Input: None.
6.) Correspondence: None.
7.) Discussion/possible recommendation/update on the following:
7a.) Letter from Resident at 503 Main Street: The tree needs to come down, number 2 on the priority list. Will salvage the wood to the owner.
7b.) Tree Removal Permit: Change boulevard to terrace. Motion by Hornblad second by Denor to approve the tree removal permit application with the change of boulevard to terrace. 4 ayes. M/C.
7c.) Arbor Day Plans & Date: April 23, 2010; Holtwood 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
7d.) Memorial Tree Program – list of trees: Change list – less maple.
7e.) Inventory Bids – Street tree inventory: table until next meeting.
7f.) RFP Planting sites/types: Table until next meeting.
7g.) Wood Policy: Add City Park. Motion by Hornblad second by Denor to approve of the adoption of the wood policy with the City Park being added to it. 4 ayes. M/C.
8.) Next meeting date/time/agenda items: April 21, 2010 @ 9 a.m.
9.) Adjournment: Motion by Bendt second by Hornblad to adjourn at 10:10 a.m.
