Meeting minutes of the Forestry Committee held on July 14, 2010

1.) Meeting called to order at 9:02 by Chairperson Rice
2.) Roll Call: Members Present: Terry Bendt, Brian Rice, Don Denor. Members Absent: Jim Hornblad. Others Present: Kale Proksch
3.) Approval of Agenda as presented: Motion by Bendt second by Denor to approve of agenda as presented. 3 ayes. M/C.
4.) Approval of meeting minutes from 6/23/2010: Motion by Denor second by Bendt to approve of 6/23/2010 meeting minutes as typed. 3 ayes. M/C.
5.) Public Input: None.
6.) Correspondence: None.
7.) Discussion/possible recommendation/update on the following:
a.) Tree Id in Parks-
1.) Which Parks: Sharp, meet at Sharp Park next month.
2.) How many in each park: see how many we have.
3.) Type of plaque: Mounted on 4x6 (maybe grant money).
4.) Info on plaque: Names, use, ect.
b.) Flyers for homeowners after tree is planted: Example from Howard to use guide…next month.
c.) Program for homeowners to buy trees during plantings: Will check into this.
d.) Gypsy moth update: Sixty [60] letters were sent out.. have talked to home owners & taken pictures. Ten [10] responses so for that are in.
8.) Next meeting date/time/agenda items: August 11th or the 18th at 9 a.m. sharp at Sharp Park.
9.) Adjournment: Motion by Denor second by Bendt to adjourn at 9: 32 a.m. 3 ayes. M/C.
