Forestry Committee meeting minutes held on January 13, 2010

1.) Meeting called to order by Rice at 9:05 p.m.
2.) Roll Call: Members Present: Brian Rice, Don Denor Jim Hornblad. Members absent: Terry Bendt. Others Present: Mayor Nerenhausen, Kale Proksch, Jeremy Wusterbarth.
3.) Approval of agenda as presented: Motion by Denor second by Hornblad to approve of agenda as presented. 3 ayes. 1 absent. M/C.
4.) Approval of meeting minutes from 12/1/2009: Motion by Hornblad second by Denor to approve of meeting minutes from 12/1/2009 as presented. 3 ayes 1 absent. M/C.
5.) Public Input: None.
6.) Correspondence:
6a.) E-mail from Tracy Salisbury – DNR: Informational.
6b.) Elm Research Institute: Informational.
7.) Discussion/possible recommendation/update on the following:
7a.) Arbor Day Planning/site/date: April 23, 2010.
7b.) Gypsy Moth: No action.
7c.) Memorial Tree Program: Change list, less maple.
7d.) Spring Planting sire for 2009 grant & 2010 Grant: Tree planting only. $2000 + $2000, our money – DNR money from 2009.
7e.) Department goals for 2010/Mission Statement: Bring ideas to next meeting.
7f.) Tree removal Permit: Kale will make the changes.
7g.) WAA Conference: Kale might go, on one else.
8.) Next meeting date/time/agenda items: February 17, 2010 @ 9:00 a.m.
