Minutes of the Industrial Development Commission meeting held on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009 at city hall pursuant to notice duly given.
1. Meeting called to order at 8:08 a.m. by Chairperson Doeren.
2. Roll call: Dick Doeren, Joe Stiloski, Mike Trepanier, Wayne Bostwick, Vern Panske, Ken DePouw and advisory members Jack Maas and Tom Fulton. Absent: Howard Schaden. Mayor Nerenhausen and Linda Belongia, Administrator and as recording secretary also present.
3. Moved by DePouw seconded by Stiloski to approve of the agenda as presented.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 6 ayes
4. Moved by Panske seconded by Stiloski to approve of the minutes from
the 7/29/09 meeting as presented.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 6 ayes
5. No correspondence or public input.
6. Chairperson Doeren stated the IDC may vote to convene into Closed Session pursuant to notice duly given and as allowed by Wis. Stats.
19.85(1) (e) for consideration on a revolving fund loan to 09-02.
Moved by DePouw seconded by Stiloski to convene into Closed Session at 8:08 a.m.
Motion carried upon verbal roll call vote. 6 ayes
Also included in the Closed Session: Mayor Nerenhausen, Jack Maas and Tom Fulton, Atty. Leege and Bill Gallagher, Sr.

7. Moved by Stiloski seconded by DePouw to reconvene into Open Session
at 9:07 a.m.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 6 ayes
8. Discussion/possible recommendation/action on:
a. Moved by Trepanier seconded by Bostwick to take no action at this time on RLF-09-02.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 6 ayes
b. Letter sent to Mr. Rymer, Oconto County Chairperson dated 7/29/09, to
date no response; Belongia advised to send 2nd copy of letter asking for a
request;
c. Doeren stated he spoke with Jeff Belongia regarding IDC & Tourism directors; Belongia will provide some info on how other communities are
handling this with a part-time employee; Stiloski referenced Cindy Brezinski from Vilas County, all work is through the Chamber of
Commerce…will get more info…need to build up tourism concept…start
with Chamber of Commerce; Stiloski referenced Boulder Junction, the local people built the tourism center…it was a grass roots level operation; Doeren stated that is the soul level of recreation;
d. Per Atty. Mraz the Wis. Stats provide no exemption for the city to no pay the county tax for the county tourism and OCEDC budgets;
e. Update on business issues/possible development;
1. Belongia sent out letters on Mayor’s behalf of some of our local businesses stating if they need any assistance from the city to let
us know.
2. Mayor & Belongia will be meeting with a potential developer, more to report at future meetings.
3. Belongia stated two applications for a revolving fund loan were taken out, nothing further to report at this time;
9. Next meeting date, 9/30/09 at 8:00 a.m. Fulton stated he will be working out in Gillett on Wednesday’s will see if that will be somewhat flexible to
allow him to continue being an advisory member on the IDC;
