PFC Minutes

Minutes of the Police & Fire Commission meeting held on Tuesday, June 8th, 2010 pursuant to notice duly given.

1. Meeting called to order by President Ron Hayes at 8:45 a.m.

2. Roll call: Ron Hayes, Tim Longsine, Steve Gering, Gene Berth and Jim Lacourciere. Also present Mayor Fulton, Chief Don Phillips and Linda Belongia Administrator and as recording secretary.

3. Moved by Gering seconded by Lacourciere to approve of the agenda as presented.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 5 ayes

4. No correspondence or public input.

5. President Hayes stated the PFC may vote to convene into Closed Session pursuant to notice duly given and as allowed by Wis. Stats. 19.85(1)(c) for interviews for the position of Fire Chief. Motion by Lacourciere seconded by Gering to convene into Closed Session at 8:54 a.m. Motion carried upon verbal roll call vote. 5 ayes

Also included in the Closed Session were Mayor Fulton and Chief Phillips.

Closed Session

9:00 a.m. Scott Schabacker brought into the closed session for his interview.
10: 25 a.m. Mr. Schabacker left the closed session, completing his interview.

10:54 a.m. Jack Mlnarik brought into the closed session for his interview.
11:25 a.m. Mr. Mlnarik left the closed session, completing his interview.

6. Moved by Berth seconded by Lacourciere to reconvene into Open Session at 12:14 p.m. Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 5 ayes

7. Moved by Longsine seconded by Gering to offer the position of Fire Chief to Jack Mlnarik at a salary of $50,000 with a one year probationary period and salary 10% for first six months and after that 5% for remainder of probationary period.
Chief Phillips will do the background check and schedule the psychological exam.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 5 ayes

8. Moved by Berth seconded by Gering to adjourn. M/C
