Wage & Personnel meeting, April 7th, 2011.
The April 7 meeting of the wages & personnel meeting was called to order at 4 p.m. by Chairman Al Schreiber. Also present were Jack Maas, Marlene Zahn, John Wittkopf and Kale Proksch.
The agenda was approved after a motion by Maas seconded by Wittkopf.
The minutes of the March 21 meeting were approved after a motion by Zahn and a second by Maas.
At 4:01 p.m. the committee moved to a closed session after a motion by Maas and a seconded by Wittkopf for the purpose to interview candidates for the three harbor master positions. Both Jim Schroeder and Cletus Beaudin were interviewed, with Gordon Olson withdrawing from the field of candidates. In open session at 4:38 p.m. on a motion by Wittkopf and a second by Schreiber, it was approved to hire Lee Rockwell and Schroeder and allow Proksch to select a third person from the list of applicants he received. If he finds no one he feels is acceptable, Beaudin will be hired. Motion carried.
Bob Mommaerts requested that Jim Wolf Sr., Crivitz, be paid mileage for his job of surveyor and staking. He stated Wolf was not asking for an increase in his pay of $15.75 per hour, but was seeking per diem. After discussion Wittkopf motioned, second by Maas to grant the per diem request for this year.
No action was taken on agenda items concerning the governor’s budget bill or placing of an ad in the Reporter for the harbor master interviews.
The meeting adjourned at 4:51 p.m. after a motion by Wittkopf and a seconded by Schreiber.
