W&P Minutes 5/9/2011

Minutes of the Wage & Personnel Committee meeting held on Monday, May 09, 2011 pursuant to notice duly given.

1. Meeting called to order by Chairperson Schreiber at 9:00 a.m.
2. Roll call: Al Schreiber, John Wittkopf, Jack Maas, Marlene Zahn and Terri Berth. Also present Linda Belongia Administrator and as recording secretary.
3. Moved by Zahn seconded by Wittkopf to approve of the agenda as presented.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 5 ayes
4. No correspondence/public input.
5. Moved by Wittkopf seconded by Maas to approve and place on file as typed the minutes from the 5/2/2011 meeting.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 5 ayes
6. Discussion on part-time city hall cleaning position(s). Belongia stated the position we currently have works approx 18 hrs per week = 36 hrs every two weeks; the other position that is vacant worked about 5 hrs per week; current employee informed Belongia she needs assistance weekly and then for larger jobs, windows, stripping/waxing floors etc.
Moved by Berth seconded by Zahn recommend to Council to hire Nancy Drewiske for the vacant part-time custodial position approx 5 hrs per week at the current wage per ordinance of $9.85.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 5 ayes
7. Next meeting date will be scheduled as needed.
8. Moved by Wittkopf seconded by Zahn to adjourn. M/C
