Minutes from 8/17/09 W&P Meeting

Minutes of the Wage & Personnel meeting held on Monday, August 17th, 2009 at city hall pursuant to notice duly given.

1. Meeting called to order at 4:03 p.m. by Chairperson Heier.
2. Roll call: Lloyd Heier, AL Schreiber, Marlene Zahn, John Wittkopf and Jim Stiloski. Also present: Mayor Nerenhausen and Linda Belongia, Administrator and as recording secretary.
3. Moved by Zahn seconded by Stiloski to approve of the agenda as amended deleting agenda item # 2.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 5 ayes
4. Moved by Wittkopf seconded by Schreiber to place on file as typed the minutes from the 1/9/09 meeting.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 5 ayes
5. No correspondence or public input.
6. Chairperson Heier stated the committee may vote to convene into Closed Session pursuant to notice duly given and as allowed by Wis. Stats.
19.85(1) (c) for discussion on public employees that the governing body
has jurisdiction over regarding the position of Director of Public Services.
Moved by Stiloski seconded by Schreiber to convene into Closed Session at 4:04 p.m.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 5 ayes

Closed Session

7. Moved by Stiloski seconded by Schreiber to reconvene into Open Session at 4:30 p.m.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 5 ayes

8. Moved by Stiloski seconded by Schreiber to recommend to Com of the
Whole to advertise for the position of a Director of Public Service with
residency required in the City of Oconto and salary depending upon
qualifications.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 5 ayes

Belongia instructed to call up consulting firms to see what the rate would be to contract out for DPS position which includes engineering,
supervising the wastewater, both water & sewer for the utility; Mayor
stated he will contact consulting firms.

9. Motion by Wittkopf seconded by Stiloski to adjourn. M/C
