Wage & Personnel

Minutes of the Wage & Personnel meeting held on Thursday, November 12th, 2009 at city hall, pursuant to notice duly given.

1. Meeting called to order by Mayor Nerenhausen at 5:40 p.m.
2. Moved by Jim Stiloski seconded by Zahn to nominate Al Schreiber as Chairperson.
Moved by Wittkopf seconded by Jim Stiloski to close the nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Al Schreiber as Chairperson.
Motion carried upon verbal vote. 5 ayes
3. Chairperson Schreiber asked for a roll call: Al Schreiber, Jack Maas, John Wittkopf, Marlene Zahn and Jim Stiloski. Mayor Nerenhausen, Atty. Jim Kalny
and Linda Belongia, Administrator and as recording secretary also
present.
4. Moved by Zahn seconded by Jim Stiloski to approve of the agenda as presented.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 5 ayes
5. No correspondence or public input
6. Atty. Kalny representing the City of Oconto and Ed VanderBloomen representing the Oconto Professional Police Association exchanged initial
proposals; copies were provided to me for the city file; Also present with
Mr. VanderBloomen was Jeff Ruechel, Glenn Sowle and Randy Van
Hulle, police officers; Atty. Kalny and Mr. VanderBloomen each went over the proposals; future meeting dates were established: December 15 & 22, 2009 both starting at 5 p.m. with the police unit.

At 6:05 p.m. Mr. VanderBloomen and the police officers left the meeting.

7. Chairperson Schreiber stated the committee may vote to convene into Closed
Session pursuant to notice duly given and as allowed by Wis.
Stats. 19.85(1), (e) & (g) for discussion on public employees that the
governing body has jurisdiction over.
Motion by Wittkopf seconded by Jim Stiloski to convene into Closed Session at 6:05 p.m.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 5 ayes

Closed Session.

8. Moved by Jim Stiloski seconded by Zahn to reconvene into Open Session at 6:25 p.m.
Motion carried upon verbal voice vote. 5 ayes

9. Next meeting Nov. 19, 2009 at 6 p.m. with the Teamsters. Belongia instructed to have on that agenda discussion/action on applications
received for the Director of Public Service position.

10. Moved by Maas seconded by Jim Stiloski to adjourn. M/C
